Biscotti - Cranberry Pistachio Cinnamon

Although I've sliced them very thinly, very little bite is still very flavourful. I like its strong Cinnamon aroma, the house smell of Cinnamon even after I've stored the biscotti away.

Ice cream cones cupcakes

Ning love to watch her Strawberry Shortcake cartoon VCD. In one of the episode "Cooking Up Fun - Piece Of Cake" Orange Blossom did a ice cream cone cake. I decided to give it a try.

I gave it to Ning while she was watching the cartoon today, she was so excited, she must have thought I took it right out from the TV screen.

Egg toufu, sweet pea and sausage stir-fry

A simple stir-fry I cooked for our dinner, I ran out of idea what to cook for dinner, so I simply stir-fry the first 3 items I grabbed from the fridge. It turns out well, and I like the colors.

Happy Birthday Ning's Daddy

I dedicate my 1st birthday cake for Ning's daddy on his 38th birthday. Thank you for being a loving hubby and wonderful papa... We love you very much!

Marshmallow Cakes (Kiwi and Orange)

I decided to make these marshmallow cakes after I saw Baking Mum's beautifully made Peach Marshmallow Cakes. I have never eaten a marshmallow cake before, so I was rather curious how it would taste like. I was so anxious I took a slice of it before it really set. hehe... And I love it! Ning's daddy likes it too. It has a combination of salty (digestive biscuits), sweet (marshmallow fillings) and sourish (fruits) taste. The crusty biscuit base goes well with the toufu like marshmallow custard and the fruity jello. Take a mouthful and it feels like magic! Am I exaggerating? Try it and you will know :)

Macarons... I did it!

My buddy introduce these sweet little treats to me. The first time I had them, we were sharing a piece it in chocolate flavour. The second time I had them, we shared each of the 3 pieces we bought, they were rose, lychee, and chocolate banana flavors.

Since I've had enough of sharing these little thing, I decided to make them myself so I can eat as much I want :)

I invested in a candy thermometer, silpat, illy, Valrhona, lots of eggs, ground almonds and hazelnuts. I even got a new digital weighing machine, just an excuse to get rid of my old conventional one.

This is my first attempt on macarons, I use the Italian Meringue method and I tried out the coffee almond and chocolate hazelnut flavour.

I almost spend the entire evening measuring the ingredients very carefully, beating the egg whites, boiling the sugar syrup, stirring, mixing and piping.. okie i need more practice on this. I had the "skin" and the "feets" where they were supposed to be.

Somehow, I underbaked my 1st tray of hazelnut ones, had 2 cracked ones, and some in really odd sizes, I even had a few figures of 8 as I have piped them too closely. But I was glad the rest turns out quite nicely. They had eggshell-thin top crust, frilly skirting around the bottom, moist and alittle chewy interior. I am already very happy with my little achievement.

And of course, I can't wait to share them with my buddy.

Specially for you Pris!

Girl's day out

Spend the afternoon lazing on the grass at VivoCity Sky Court. We brought coffee and freshly baked banana cupcakes. Ning ran all over the place with Tuti tailing behind while me and my buddy gossip the afternoon away.. :)

Pork Fillets with Thai Asparagus

I still cook dinner, its just that I'm lazy to post them. Here's pork fillets with Thai asparagus and cherry tomatoes, stir-fry them with oyster sauce.
Oh oyster sauce... my magic sauce... what am I gonna do without it.

Pumpkin Muffins

Stir the cake, stir the cake.... this is ning's favourite part whenever i bake...
I like the rich orange color of the smashed pumpkin.

I deliberately cut down on my brown sugar thinking that pumpkin has its original sweetness, but I can't really taste the pumpkin in these. Anyway, they are rather blend, so I spiraled some hazelnut cream. Not bad lah...

Cha Soba

Lately, I've fallen in love (again) with Cha Soba. Its so refreshing to have it for lunch, especially on a hot and sunny afternoon. Its also super easy to prepare, nothing to defrost, no cutting and chopping, no preseasoning, no oil, no frying.. and no dishes to wash.. hehe.. ok, maybe a pot.

Ning and Friends

Jaydon, Ning, Zihui and Xuanjie.. its not a good shot, but the best I could captured in a split second, with the help of a few extra pairs of hands to keep them standing close togther...

Baked Seashell Pasta with Mushroom Sauce

I like to bake these for lunch, its easy and Ning loves them.
